Confirmed Chelsea Squad For United States Pre-Season Tour

The list of Chelsea’s squad to travel to the United States of America on their pre-season tour has been confirmed.

The list of Chelsea’s squad to travel to the United States of America on their pre-season tour has been confirmed.

Chelsea embark on their training camp in Los angeles, spending two weeks in North America as they prepare for the 2022/23 season.

The Blues will be training at the University of California before facing their first opponent of the tour, Club America, in Las Vegas.

From here, Chelsea will travel to Charlotte to take on MLS newcomers Charlotte FC in North Carolina.

Finally, the Blues will face London rivals Arsenal in Orlando as they conclude the tour.

Chelsea’s official website have now announced the confirmed travelling squad as the Blues embark on their tour of the US.

The full confirmed squad is as listed:

Goalkeepers: Kepa Arrizabalaga, Marcus Bettinelli, Edouard Mendy, Teddy Sharman-Lowe.

Defenders: Marcos Alonso, Ethan Ampadu, Cesar Azpilicueta, Trevoh Chalobah, Ben Chilwell, Levi Colwill, Reece James, Kenedy, Emerson Palmieri, Malang Sarr, Thiago Silva.

Midfielders: Ross Barkley, Conor Gallagher, Billy Gilmour, Jorginho, Mateo Kovacic, Mason Mount, Harvey Vale.

Forwards: Tino Anjorin, Michy Batshuayi, Kai Havertz, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Christian Pulisic, Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech.

N'Golo Kante and Ruben Loftus-Cheek will not travel with the squad, with the official website confirming that the pair will not fly to America due to their Covid vaccination status.

Dujon Sterling is also absent from the squad, as is Ian Maatsen after returning from spells in the Championship, although a reason for the pair's exclusion has not been listed by the club.

Furthermore, Armando Broja will look to join up with the Blues next week as they prepare for their first full matches of pre-season.

Thomas Tuchel’s side’s first match of the tour will see them face Club America at 03:00 (UK) on Sunday 17 July.

This comes after the Blues already completed a pre-season in-house friendly, without their returning national team players.

Chalobah, Arrizabalaga, Loftus-Cheek, Barkley and Ziyech were among the senior players to feature as Chilwell and Ziyech both got on the scoresheet in the match.

While the scoreline was unknown there were at least three goals in the game.

Now, the Blues will step up their preparations, playing a full 90 minutes rather than the 40 minute match that was played behind closed doors at Cobham.

Tuchel will have the chance to look at his current squad ahead of the new season, with returning loanees handed the chance to impress.
