Confirmed Officials: Chelsea vs Manchester United | Premier League

The officials have been confirmed for Chelsea’s Premier League clash against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening.

Chelsea host Erik ten Hag’s side in west London and will be looking to maintain their place in the top four.

Man United are only one point behind Chelsea, who currently occupy the final Champions League qualification spot, and victory over Graham Potter’s side would see them leapfrog the Blues into fourth place.

Both games between the sides last season ended in 1-1 draws so a draw, based on recent history, could be a likely outcome.

Chelsea haven’t conceded in their last five games in all competitions, nor have they lost (W5, D2) since Potter was appointed last month.

Now the officials for the league meeting have been revealed by the Premier League ahead of the encounter.

Referee

The Premier League confirmed that Stuart Attwell will take charge of the meeting as the 2022/23 season continues.

Assistants

Stuart Attwell will be supported by Darren Cann and Harry Lennard on the touchline.

Fourth Official

Michael Salisbury has been named as the Fourth Official for Saturday’s match, with the referee overseeing conduct within the two dugouts, and the behaviour of managers Graham Potter and Erik ten Hag.

VAR/Assistant VAR

Overviewing proceedings from Stockley Park on Saturday evening will be Michael Oliver, who has been named as the Video Assistant Referee, with the Assistant Video Assistant Referee being Richard West.

What has been said ahead of the game?

Chelsea head coach Graham Potter was full of praise for Erik ten Hag and his impact at Old Trafford following his appointment.

United visit Stamford Bridge sitting one point behind Chelsea, which will see them climb above the Blues should they take all three points on Saturday evening.

Potter is expecting a tough challenge but one he is relishing, telling reporters: "I have a huge respect for Ten Hag. They've done well, not a great start but they've battled back and played well. It's going to be a tough game.

"It's a game of football. You have to analyse the opponent, think of way you can play. They have some top players, they have galvanised into an impressive team. We are looking forward to it."
