Manchester United have already selected their ideal signing after Mateus Fernandes decided against a move to Old Trafford.
The Premier League transfer window has only been open for two weeks and yet several clubs have been busy completing moves ahead of pre-season.
United were one of the first sides to complete a deal this summer, agreeing a £35m deal with Atalanta for Ederson as part of their midfield rebuild following the departure of Casemiro.
As part of this midfield rebuild, United were also actively pursuing a deal for West Ham United's Fernandes, who has attracted interest from clubs across Europe.

However, it has now been confirmed that Fernandes has instead accepted a move to join Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur in a deal worth a guaranteed £85million.
After missing out on the deal, United will now turn their focus to alternative targets, with a number of players linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer.
But, it appears that there's one player that stands out amongst the rest as United's top target, and it's another West Ham United star.
As per Sky Sports, Netherlands winger Crysencio Summerville is now United's leading left-wing target this summer following his impressive performances at the World Cup.
Despite the fact that the Dutch side suffered a brutal penalty shootout exit to Morocco on Monday night, Summerville was a standout players, scoring against Japan on his tournament debut.
Following West Ham's relegation to the Championship at the end of last season, Summerville's future at the club remains in doubt, with several Premier League sides interested.
Alongside Summerville, Morgan Rogers is believed to be a top target for United, but Villa have regualrly assured that they do not want to sell him and value him well over £100m.
Otherwise, Everton's Iliman Ndiaye and Lille's Mathias Fernandes-Pardo are also under consideration.
However, before any move for Summerville, or any other forward, can be finalised, United must first figure out what to do with Marcus Rashford, who is set to return to United training following his World Cup campaign with England.
Will Marcus Rashford stay at Manchester United?
Rashford impressed while on loan with Barcelona last season, scoring 14 goals and assisting another 14 across 49 appearances in all competitions.

As it stands, Rashford remains keen to rejoin Barcelona, but the Spanish giants are only considering bringing him back on a loan, rather than a permanent deal, likely impacted by their signing of Anthony Gordon in a deal worth nearly £70m.
But with just two years left on Rashford's deal, United are not willing to entertain such a proposal, and with several other clubs reportedly interested in the winger, his future remains uncertain.
