Chelsea head back to Stamford Bridge following two away trips in the last week, which has seen them collect four points from a possible six against Aston Villa and Brentford.

Graham Potter remains unbeaten as Chelsea head coach from his first seven games, winning five and drawing two.

They had to settle for a 0-0 draw in midweek to Brentford, while Manchester United put in their best performance to date since Erik ten Hag was appointed in the summer as they clinched a 2-0 victory against Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford.

It’s a short turnaround for Saturday’s clash in the capital as fourth take on fifth at Stamford Bridge.

Here's what the Chelsea head coach had to say on Friday afternoon in his pre-match press conference:

Team news

"We are still in the process of recovery. Pretty much as we were with Brentford. Conor (Gallagher) trained today so we will see how he is over the 24 hours."

Reece James

"He's in a brace for four weeks to stabilise the knee, then it's rehab. That will take around eight weeks. That's the latest."

Erik ten Hag and Manchester United verdict

"I have a huge respect for Ten Hag. They've done well, not a great start but they've battled back and played well. It's going to be a tough game.

"It's a game of football. You have to analyse the opponent, think of way you can play. They have some top players, they have galvanised into an impressive team. We are looking forward to it."

Cristiano Ronaldo getting dropped by Man United

"I can't really comment, he's (Erik ten Hag) taken his stance. Then you need the club to support. It's difficult for me to comment because I don't really know what's happened, I don't want to go off headlines."

N'Golo Kante's contract situation

"The most important thing for us and me is we get him fit, that's the focus. He's got a long road ahead of him. We have to get him back fit and strong."

When Denis Zakaria will get his chance

"We've got a squad of 24, we've used quite a lot. In that position, there are good players. He's been patient and competing, and ready to help the team. You can't play everybody. He's been unfortunate, he's done nothing wrong."

Trevoh Chalobah

"Very impressed, from day one. He wasn't in the start for the first couple of games but acted perfectly. Very focused on his football and helping the team. He's a bit of a solider.

"We've had some problems in terms of availability, but he's stood up and performing at a good level. Not surprising he gets that link (England), but that's thankfully not my problem. That's Gareth's (Southgate) decision to make."

Personality of Graham Potter and squad

"I do have one you know!

"Six weeks is a short time to really get my true, wonderful personality on a team. The personality is the personality of the players at the moment. They've understood the challenge, they've been brilliant."

Impact of Reece James and N'Golo Kante missing World Cup and dealing with disappointment

"They are human beings. The reality is, I've got nothing to say that will make it any better for them. You have to focus on the things you can control, rehab, go day to day."
