Player Ratings: Manchester United 2-0 Tottenham Hotspur (Premier League)

The player ratings from Manchester United's 2-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League, Fred and Bruno Fernandes with the goals

Cain Smith

Cain Smith

Manchester United were excellent in their 2-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League, with Bruno Fernandes and Fred finding the goals for Erik ten Hag's men.

It was easily the best performance of the season for the Reds, with so many great performances individually.

Here are the player ratings for the encounter:

Advert

David de Gea - 8/10

Continued his recent form and distributed the ball well from the back throughout. Great save against Harry Kane, despite the Englishman being offside.

Diogo Dalot - 8.5/10

After some slightly underwhelming performances, Dalot looked back to his best. Defensively solid against a dangerous Ivan Perisic and progressed well.

Raphael Varane - 8/10

The cool head at the back for United. Always knew when he needed to step up and stop Spurs advancing. Brilliant in the air on a number of occasions.

Lisandro Martinez - 8/10

Advert

Dealt with Harry Kane expertly and kept things ticking for the Reds. The media have seemed to become quiet on the topic of United's 5'9 centre-back.

Luke Shaw - 9/10

Another great performance from the left-back. Whether it was helping in defence, progression or link-up in advanced areas, he was excellent.

Casemiro - 9/10

Advert

His best performance in a United shirt so far. Some great moments on the ball and was key in United's pressing game. So close to a thunderous goal in the first half.

Fred - 9/10

He was much criticised in his last two games, but showed why Ten Hag picked up in the starting XI again. Brilliant energy, helping United's press and creating space for others with his runs. Some would say his involvement in both goals was slightly lucky, others would say that he created his own luck.

Bruno Fernandes - 9/10

A brilliant finish to score his goal and was unfortunate to have his cool, calm and collected finish taken away by a slight offside call. He never stopped running and was much calmer is his general play.

Advert

Antony - 8/10

The Brazilian was so close to opening the scoring early on with his trademark curling shot. He worked hard defensively and in the press.

Marcus Rashford - 8.5/10

Stretched Spurs' backline all night and held the ball up well to bring others into play. His threat in behind was always there and he will feel hard done by that Hugo Lloris was excellent for a number of his shots.

Jadon Sancho - 6/10

A particularly poor technical display from the winger as he had many loose first touches. Like Antony, he was always switched on in the press and in his defensive duties. His calm assist to Fred will hopefully give him confidence.

Subs

Scott McTominay - 8/10

Looked comfortable in the middle straight after coming on and helped United continue their dominance.

Christian Eriksen - N/A

A few nice touches in the few minutes he played.

Anthony Elanga - N/A

Lively when he came on.
