Chelsea Confirm 28-Man Travelling Squad To Face Udinese In Final Game Of Pre-Season

Chelsea have confirmed the 28-man squad which has travelled to Italy to face Udinese.

Chelsea have confirmed the 28-man squad which has travelled to Italy to face Udinese in pre-season.

Thomas Tuchel's side will play their final game of their pre-season schedule before the campaign gets underway next weekend when they face Everton in the Premier League.

Chelsea head to Italy for one last game as they complete their pre-season schedule as they look to complete 90 minutes of football to ramp up their match sharpness ahead of the trip to Goodison Park next Saturday.

"It’s a game we’re going to use to gain more physical involvement and improvement but you also want to win and that’s what we want, to get back on that road to winning," Mount told the official Chelsea website ahead of the friendly.

‘It’s going to be a brilliant game. You know what the fans are like in Italy, they’re top. It will be good to get a full 90 minutes under the belt so I’m looking forward to it."

He added on pre-season: "Obviously the results are the main thing and you want to win but you’re using them for the minutes and to gain that match sharpness that you’ve missed over the last couple of months.

"They’re games that we’re going to learn from and you never want to be losing 4-0. It’s the little moments in games that you learn from and the mistakes that we made that you want to cut out. We still have some time to nail that down and be ready for the first game of the season."

Chelsea flew out to Italy on Friday prior to the evening's kick-off at the Dacia Arena, and Tuchel took a 28-man party with him to utilise and to give minutes to, to face the Serie A outfit.

Full squad:

Goalkeepers: Kepa Arrizabalaga, Marcus Bettinelli, Edouard Mendy

Defenders: Marcos Alonso, Thiago Silva, Trevoh Chalobah, Ben Chilwell, Kenedy, Reece James, Kalidou Koulibaly, Cesar Azpilicueta, Malang Sarr, Emerson Palmieri, Ethan Ampadu

Midfielders: Jorginho, N’Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Conor Gallagher, Mason Mount, Kai Havertz, Billy Gilmour

Forwards: Christian Pulisic, Raheem Sterling, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Hakim Ziyech, Harvey Vale, Armando Broja

Ross Barkley, Michy Batshuayi, Levi Colwill and Timo Werner have all not travelled with the Blues to Italy.

Barkley and Batshuayi have been linked with moves away, while Colwill is thought to still be nursing an injury which is why he hasn't travelled, according to reports.

Werner hasn't travelled as he remains with the medical team at Cobham, the club confirmed.

There are spot on the plane for Armando Broja and Billy GIlmour, as well as Harvey Vale, who all left the first-team early during their tour of the United States earlier this month.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek and N'Golo Kante both travel after missing the US tour due to their Covid-19 vaccination status.
