Chelsea Agree Deal For Premier League Goalkeeper As Gabriel Slonina Set For Medical

Chelsea Agree Deal For Premier League Goalkeeper As Gabriel Slonina Set For Medical

Chelsea have agreed a deal for a Premier League goalkeeper despite Chicago Fire’s Gabriel Slonina being set for his medical.

Chelsea have agreed a deal for a Premier League goalkeeper despite Chicago Fire’s Gabriel Slonina being set for his medical, it has been reported.

The pair are set to be the first Men’s first team signings under the Todd Boehly-Clearlake Capital ownership.

It was reported that Slonina was set to become the first signing as Thomas Tuchel’s side are set to beat Real Madrid to a transfer.

However, a new name has emerged as the most likely to become Boehly and co’s first deal this summer.

Nizaar Kinsella revealed that the Blues are set to announce the signing of Southampton Under-18’s goalkeeper Eddie Beach on a permanent deal on Thursday, with a fee being agreed between the two clubs.

The signing is not expected to affect Chelsea’s deal for Slonina as Italian journalist Matteo Moretto stated that the 18–year-old is set for his Blues medical.

It is ‘very likely’ that the American will undergo his medical after Chicago Fire’s match against DC United before an official announcement at Chelsea.

He will spend the rest of the season on loan in the MLS at his current side as Beach will join Chelsea immediately.

It’s unclear as to what Beach’s role will be at Chelsea, but it looks like he will most likely feature for the development sides due to his age.and lack of experience.

Chelsea’s most expensive goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga could also leave this summer. He will hold honest talks with Tuchel regarding his future.

“It depends what he wants and what his plans are,” Tuchel said last month over whether or not the Spaniard would remain at Chelsea next season.

“I know that we are very privileged to have Edou and Kepa in our squad but I also know for sure that Kepa is not happy about the situation because he deserved to play more and he can be a very strong number one. He arrived as a number one so the situation is not easy. He has been a fantastic team player since day one and never let anybody down.

“We did not have a conversation yet but I know that the goalkeeper coaches have these conversations at the moment and then we will take our time to speak with him and reflect on what’s best and what the possibilities are. As a coach, of course I’m super happy to have both strong goalkeepers so let’s see.”

Lazio shot-stopper Thomas Strakosha has been linked with a move to Chelsea, also, in recent days as it is expected the two new signings of Beach and Slonina will not replace Kepa if he departs.
