Predictions: How Will Chelsea Fare In 2022/23 Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup And Carabao Cup?

Absolute Chelsea offer their predictions for the 2022/23 campaign.

The 2022/23 Premier League season is nearly upon us and Chelsea will be looking to improve on their third placed finish last season under Thomas Tuchel.

Chelsea were 19 points off the pace at the end of the 2021/22 campaign, finishing behind Manchester City and Liverpool, and ahead of the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Manchester United.

Tuchel’s side begin their 38-game schedule away to Everton at Goodison Park and will be hoping to get off to a winning start on Merseyside before playing Spurs in their first home game.

The Blues played 63 out of a possible 66 games last season, a campaign with little rest, and they will be keen to go the distance in the Carabao Cup, FA Cup and Champions League once again.

Additions have been made to help the squad. Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly have both arrived, while many more signings are expected through the doors at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea were runners-up in the Carabao Cup and FA Cup last season, losing twice to Liverpool at Wembley and both on penalties. They are yet to win a domestic trophy under Tuchel since his appointment and will be eager to put last season’s heartbreak behind them to go all the way.

Real Madrid ended Chelsea’s hopes of retaining their Champions League crown, thanks to an extra-time win in the quarter-finals at the Bernabeu in April.

The departure of Romelu Lukaku has lost some goals for Chelsea, but Sterling’s arrival should replace some of the attacking threat which the Belgian has left void.

Ahead of the beginning of the season, Absolute Chelsea previewed the season with their predictions of where the Blues will finish come May-June time.
