Chelsea's New Owners Yet To Decide On Marina Granovskaia And Bruce Buck's Futures

Chelsea's New Owners Yet To Decide On Marina Granovskaia And Bruce Buck's Futures

Chelsea's new owners are yet to make a decision on the futures of Marina Granovskaia and Bruce Buck.

Chelsea’s new owners, a consortium led by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital, are yet to have made a decision on the futures of Chairman Bruce Buck and director Marina Granovskaia.

The group recently took over from Roman Abramovich to become the club’s new owners, with the latter previously spending 19 years at the helm.

Their purchase of Chelsea has signalled the start of a new chapter in the club’s history, and they will take part in their first transfer window in the coming weeks and months.

It will give the Blues a chance to address matters on the pitch as they look to bring in new players, but the futures of a couple of those on the board are yet to be finalised.

According to The Telegraph, the club’s new owners are yet to decide whether or not Buck and Granovskaia will remain as directors beyond the summer.

Boehly and Behdad Eghbali, who is a co-founder of Clearlake Capital, are set to represent Chelsea when the Premier League hosts its annual meeting this week.

It is believed that such attendance from the duo has raised questions over the futures of Buck and Granovskaia and despite them originally being speculated to remain at the club under the new consortium, their futures are now said to be ‘uncertain’.

While Boehly and Clearlake Capital wait to decide on the aforementioned directors, they are set to back boss Thomas Tuchel in the transfer market this summer.

Tuchel is believed to be given around £200m to spend on transfers, a sign of intent as Chelsea look towards a Premier League title challenge next season.

The German has also been told that he will be allowed to take a lead on the Blues’ business this summer, and he will have the ‘loudest’ voice when it comes to transfers and other decisions regarding the first team squad.

Boehly wants to make ‘bold signings’ too as he helps lead the club into a new era.

Romelu Lukaku could leave the club after just one year back at Stamford Bridge, with the striker reportedly feeling as though he is being ‘forced out’.

The striker returned to Chelsea last summer after two years at Inter Milan, but was only able to score 15 goals in 44 appearances across all competitions last season.

There is now speculation that he could move back to Inter this summer, with the 29-year-old winning the Serie A title with them in the 2020/21 campaign.
