Chelsea willing to pay £60 million for Gordon despite Lampard stance as agent confirms Zakharyan move 'close'

Chelsea willing to pay £60 million for Gordon despite Lampard stance as agent confirms Zakharyan move 'close'

Chelsea are willing to pay up to £60 million for Everton winger Anthony Gordon and are set to sign Arsen Zakharyan, according to reports.

Chelsea are willing to pay up to £60 million for Anthony Gordon, with Frank Lampard determined to keep the winger at Everton, and are also set to sign Dinamo Moscow midfielder Arsen Zakharyan, according to reports.

The Blues are in the market for several players heading into the final week of the transfer window, with the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyand and Wesley Fofana also linked.

It is believed that Everton are holding out on a deal for Gordon, with the Toffees wishing to take either Armando Broja or Conor Gallagher from Chelsea as part of the deal.

Two bids have already been rejected from Thomas Tuchel's side, with time runing out in the transfer window.

Callum Hudson-Odoi is set to join Bayer Leverkusen on a season-long loan, while Hakim Ziyech remains in talks over a potential return to Ajax this summer.

Therefore, it looks like Tuchel will have to act in the transfer market in order to seal replacements, with less than a week left of the summer window.

As reported by Sky Sports, Everton remain determined to keep Chelsea target Gordon.

Tuchel's side are willing to pay up to £60 million for the 21-year-old, but the Toffees do not wish to sell their academy graduate despite the player expressing an interest to move.

Lampard has now provided another update on the winger, speaking to the press ahead of this weekend's fixtures.

When asked if Chelsea have submitted a new bid, he said: "No, it hasn't come in. He remains our player. He's in the squad for tomorrow. He's a huge player for us, not only a big value for the club if you want to talk financially, but more importantly to the squad.

"They haven't bid £60 million. Let's not talk about a number because it's not there.

"I've been fortunate enough to work with fantastic young players... seeing them develop, see them now become England internationals, Champions League winners, worth maybe triple figures in terms of some of their personal values and Anthony is in that bracket."

The Blues have already seen Raheem Sterling, Marc Cucurella and Kalidou Koulibaly join the first team squad, while the likes of Carney Chukuemeka, Cesare Casadei and Omari Hutchinson have also joined as younger players.

It appears that Chelsea could be set to add another youngster to this list, with Zakharyan the latest to be linked.

According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Chelsea have submitted a bid for the Russia international.

The Blues are hoping to close a deal quickly for the youngster, with it unclear as to whether he would feature for the first team, head out on loan, or play his part for the development squads.

The player's agent has now confirmed the transfer interest, revealing that a deal is close to being completed.

He said: "This is true. Everything is close."

It's currently unclear as to whether the signing will impact Chelsea's move for Gordon, with the Blues looking to secure further transfers before the end of the window.
