WWE has made an unprecedented decision to hold WrestleMania 36 across two nights amid the coronavirus outbreak.

The wrestling promotion initially had its biggest event of the year taking place at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, on 5th April.

But WWE announced earlier this week that the event had been pulled from Tampa and would be held at the Performance Center in Orlando instead.

The company has now confirmed that WrestleMania, which will be held behind closed doors, has been turned into a two-night wrestling extravaganza.

According to WWE, the Showcase of the Immortals will stream on the WWE Network from 11pm UK time (7pm ET/4pm PT) on 4th April and 5th April.

The promotion has also revealed that WrestleMania will "not only take place at WWE's training facility but will include multiple locations over two nights."

Former New England Patriots star Rob Gronkowski, who is set to join WWE, will be the host for the Show of Shows.

The three-time Super Bowl champ tweeted: "It's official! I'm hosting @WrestleMania this year... and it's gonna be too big for just one night.

"For the 1st time, #WrestleMania will be a 2-NIGHT event: Saturday, April 4 AND Sunday, April 5 on @WWENetwork! Tell you more this Friday night on #SmackDown at 8 ET on @FOXTV."

Drew McIntyre, who won the Royal Rumble match back in January, is scheduled to face Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania.

Charlotte Flair, who won the women's Royal Rumble match, will clash with Rhea Ripley for the NXT Women's Championship at the event.

Other matches for the WrestleMania card include Becky Lynch vs Shayna Baszler for the Raw Women's Championship and Goldberg vs Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship.

Future WWE Hall of Famer John Cena will make his in-ring return against 'The Fiend' Bray Wyatt, while wrestling legend The Undertaker returns for a showdown with AJ Styles.

Kevin Owens will compete against Seth Rollins at WrestleMania, while Edge is set to face Randy Orton in a Last Man Standing match.
