WWE Star 'Might Never Wrestle Again' due to Career-Threatening Injury

A big name in wrestling may have made her final WWE appearance

WWE insiders have reported that one of the company's superstars 'might never wrestle again' due to a career-threatening injury.

Piper Niven has been out of action since late August, following her involvement in an episode of SmackDown.

Her last appearance in the ring came in a single's victory over Charlotte Flair, who currently forms half of the WWE Women's Tag Team Champions, along with Alexa Bliss.

It was an impressive win over Flair, but it could turn out to be her last on television for a long time. Since then, fans have been left concerned by her WWE absence.

There has been mounting speculation that Niven had picked up a serious injury and the reports did not clarify the situation.

Initially, Fightful Select reported that she had sustained a problem, although they did not confirm either the nature or the severity of the issue.

Now, a more worrying update has emerged.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Live, reporter Bryan Alvarez, suggested that Niven's situation may be more serious than initially thought.

He said: "There’s concern that it could be career-ending, so whatever it is, I mean, it’s serious.

"Hopefully she can come back, but she is out due to injury.”

Niven had been to set to wrestle alongside Chelsea Green in a Women's Tag Team Championship match against Flair and Bliss.

But the bout was suddenly cancelled without explanation, sparking confusion among WWE fans and fuelling further rumours on Niven's absence. Over the past two years, Niven and Green have worked together under the team name 'The Secret Hervice'.

The pair even enjoyed a run as WWE Women's Tag Team Champions.

Niven and Green only came together in August 2023, when Green's former partner Sonya Deville tore her anterior cruciate ligament. The duo developed a successful team and enjoyed a stint as the WWE Women's Tag Team Champions.

After Niven's absence from SmackDown, Green posted a statement on social media.

Green wrote: "Our beloved Head of SecHERity, Slaygent P, is currently out on a top-secret special assignment. In her absence, the Secret Hervice will be accepting intel dossiers (a.k.a. resumes, for you dummies) and video submissions for a potential fill-in candidate.

"Only those with a license to slay, investigative background of HERlock Holmes and an impeccable record of SHEcurity will be looked at.

"xoxo President of Chelsea Green Fandom, Chelsea Green."

And Niven even replied to Green's message and wrote: "SLAYGENTS ASSEMBLE!"

Despite the humour, it appears that Niven could have a more serious injury than initially believed, and be set for a prolonged period on the side-lines.
