Wrestling Star Stunned As Fans Hijack Main Event With ICE Chant

MJF was visibly surprised by the anti-ICE chant which started when his match with Brody King in AEW began.

Wrestling superstar MJF was visibly stunned as fans hijacked his AEW main event with anti-ICE chant.

MJF, arguably the biggest name in wrestling outside of WWE currently, is in his second reign as AEW world champion after beating Samoa Joe, Swerve Strickland, and 'Hangman' Adam Page.

On Wednesday night, in the latest episode of AEW Dynamite in Las Vegas, Nevada, MJF was in action against Brody King in an AEW World Title Eliminator.

The main event ended swiftly, with Page interfering and causing a distraction for King to score a swift, shock victory that secures him a shot at the AEW world title at the Grand Slam Australia in just over a week.

But the biggest talking point came just before when the bell tolled. As the two wrestlers were stood in the corners preparing to do battle, the fans in attendance erupted with chants of "F*** ICE!" in a clear message to Donald Trump's administration and their aggressive efforts against immigration.

The spontaneous chant, which has also been heard at NBA games, was not censored by Triller, who broadcast AEW on a weekly basis.

The cameras zoomed in on MJF, who had an astonished look on his face as he heard the deafening chants.

King, meanwhile, appeared to be nod in approval having shared his stance on social media - where he announced $58,904.09 had been raised for families involved in ICE raids in Minnesota.

He and artist Daniel Warren Johnson worked with Headlocked Comics for the campaign.

"Thank you to everyone that bought a shirt or a comic," King wrote on X.

"Thank you to @danielwarrenart @HeadlockedComic and Edgeman printing for making it happen. F*** Ice."

Wrestling stars make statement against ICE

In October, fellow AEW wrestler Page spoke out after commercials recruiting for the Immigration and Customs Enforcement aired during Dynamite.

He proceeded to take to social media and encouraged AEW fans to write to the HBO Max and TBS' feedback departments, commenting, "f*** ICE airing commercials during Dynamite, let em know".

The chants follow Grammy Award winner and occasional WWE superstar Bad Bunny stating, "ICE out" in his acceptance speech prior to his Super Bowl half-time performance.

After confirming her departure from WWE, The Rock's daughter Simone Johnson put out a statement against ICE on social media, writing: "and now that i can say this with my full chest, [middle finger emoji] ice and that entire administration".

The post disappeared after Johnson, who went by the stage name Ava as NXT General Manager, deleted her X account.
