Manchester United have confirmed 11 departures so far this summer, in what will be the start of Erik ten Hag's rebuild of the club.

The first-team squad has already started the reshuffling under Ten Hag, with departures for Edinson Cavani, Paul Pogba, Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard, Nemanja Matic and Lee Grant already announced.

This has led to the club searching for two midfielders, with four of those names having operated in United's engine room beforehand.

Frenkie de Jong is one player that Ten Hag, and that deal looks increasingly likely to happen as the days pass.

Meanwhile, player-coach Paul McShane will retire from football after he helped with United's Under-23s side last season.

He will go continue his coaching role with the Professional Development Phase at the club.

Goalkeeper Paul Wooston announced his retirement from the professional game at just 23 years of age in March. He will remain in close contact with United as they aim to help him in the next step of his career.

Five academy players will depart from the club once their contacts run out.

D’Mani Mellor, Reece Devine and Connor Stanley have received support from United in finding new clubs ahead of the new season.

Mellor made his debut for the first-team against Astana under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in 2019/20 and has been impressive throughout his time in the academy as a number nine.

Dylan Levitt is one player where the club have taken the option to extend his contract after he impressed on loan at Dundee United last campaign.

Martin Svidersky was offered terms in a new contract, however, it's expected that he will, too, leave the club.

These players, whether in the first-team or academy, have been good servants to the club.

With the transfer window now open, United will be looking to make additions to the first-team and academy ahead of an important season.
