Player ratings: Omonia 2-3 Manchester United (Europa League)

The ratings for Manchester United's players in their Europa League victory against Omonia.

Harry Greenwood

Harry Greenwood

Manchester United won their second Europa League game of the season against Omonia, with substitutes Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial being the difference in the game.

Erik ten Hag's side were stunned after going behind in the first half, but some smart changes from the manager led to an impressive comeback.

Here are the player ratings for the Red Devils:

Advert

David de Gea - 5/10

Only routine saves to make all game apart from the goals, which he could do little about.

Diogo Dalot - 5/10

Attempted to move the ball forward well in the first half when United’s attack was faltering but was beaten for Omonia’s second goal

Advert

Victor Lindelöf - 4/10

Fairly solid performance from the Swede, kept the Omonia counter attacks at bay all evening. Tough luck with the goal as was from a teammate’s individual error.

Lisandro Martinez - 5/10

Some nice pieces of distribution from the Argentine compensate for his lack of presence in both of the Omonia goals

Advert

Tyrell Malacia - 2/10

Energetic around the pitch but gave the ball away for Omonia’s goal in a moment of panic which will knock his confidence.

Casemiro - 4/10

Advert

Little presence all game from the Brazilian but played his role to a suitable degree

Christian Eriksen - 6/10

Good bits of inter-play around the edge of the Omonia box and controlled the game’s tempo well once United has taken the lead

Bruno Fernandes - 5/10

Advert

Great pass over the top for Rashford’s goal and a couple tidy touches around the box but failed to carve enough opportunities out considering the quality of opposition.

Jadon Sancho - 2/10

Absent throughout the first half and reluctant to attack his man. Gave virtually no cutting edge to United’s attack whilst on the pitch.

Antony - 6/10

Looked the most threatening in the first half and forced a good save out of the Omonia keeper with a curling effort. Should have scored early on with a one on one.

Cristiano Ronaldo - 3/10

Missed what was virtually an open net to score himself and appeared jaded all evening but redeemed himself slightly with the assist for Rashford’s second goal.

Substitutes

Marcus Rashford - 9/10

Two goals and an assist for the Englishman off the bench, showing the impact he can have for this United side moving forward

Luke Shaw - 5/10

Not much to note for Shaw other than losing his man for Omonia’s second

Anthony Martial - 8/10

Made an instant impact off the bench with a tidy finish. Surely a starter for United against Everton on the weekend

Fred - 6/10

Showed hunger and energy when coming on the pitch, making an impact on the tempo united played at.

Scott McTominay - N/A
