Manchester United recused a point late on at Stamford Bridge as Casemiro scored his first goal for The Reds against Chelsea, after Jorginho opened the scoring from the penalty spot.

It was an even game which looked to escape Erik ten Hag's team when Scott McTominay gave away a penalty late on, but his Brazilian teammate was on the end of a Luke Shaw cross in the last minutes.

Here are the player ratings for the game,

David de Gea - 5/10

Advert

Can’t be blamed for the goal from the penalty spot but had some questionable distribution. Made a number of routine saves throughout.

Diogo Dalot -7/10

Won his contest with Sterling and offered an overlapping option in attack.

Raphael Varane - 8/10

Hopefully recovers soon from what appeared to be a painful ankle injury. Marshalled the backline superbly and showed some excellent distribution out from the back.

Lisandro Martinez - 7/10

Once again showed the logic behind his nickname, ‘The Butcher of Amsterdam’. Worked well with Varane to hold off Chelsea pressure throughout.

Luke Shaw - 6/10

Defended the Chelsea threat well and got forward in attack when possible to provide some width.

Casemiro - 8/10

Fantastic header to rescue a point for United. Showed some lovely touches to aid transition from defence to attack throughout.

Christian Eriksen - 6/10

Some nice touches from the Dane and helped to dictate the first half well. Struggled slightly after Chelsea midfield adjustment. Decent performance overall.

Jadon Sancho - 4/10

Little spark from the winger and virtually no driving towards the Chelsea goal. Looked to have the beating of his man a couple of times but opted to play the ball backwards.

Bruno Fernandes - 6/10

Nothing spectacular from the midfielder but constantly had the Chelsea defence on the move.

Antony - 6/10

Had a number of crosses that struggled to find his teammates but remained a threat throughout and created space for the rest of the team.

Marcus Rashford - 6/10

Showed good energy throughout the game but struggled to find the final product as has been the case over the past several matches.

Subs

Fred - 5/10

Got around the pitch to break up Chelsea possession.

Victor Lindelöf - 6/10

Did well to soak up Chelsea pressure and fill Varane’s shoes.

Scott McTominay - 2/10

Gave away a ridiculous, needless and frankly stupid penalty that could have cost his side all three points.

Anthony Elanga - N/A

Provided a good attacking threat, driving towards the goal with much needed intensity.
