Latest team news: FC Sheriff vs Manchester United (Europa League)

The latest team news as Manchester United face FC Sheriff away in the Europa League.

Manchester United will face off against FC Sheriff in the Europa League as Erik ten Hag looks to get back to winning ways.

Last time out, Manchester United lost 1-0 to Real Sociedad after a controversial hand ball was given on Lisandro Martinez in the penalty area.

It leaves United third in the group after match day one in the Europa League, with a trip to Moldovan Sheriff next on the calendar.

Manchester United

Starting with returnees, Erik ten Hag has Luke Shaw back after the defender missed United's last game against Real Sociedad.

Shaw is part of Ten Hag's official travelling squad for Thursday's fixture, however there are a number of noticeable absentees from the list.

Marcus Rashford is one that stands out with the forward also missing from Wednesday morning's training, and Erik ten Hag has provided an update on the forward's fitness.

"He’s not available, a consequence after Arsenal. He has a muscle injury," explained Erik ten Hag in his pre-match press conference.

"I don't think too long (until he returns), but I cannot say how long.

"It's not really bad, we expect him back soon."

Another who is missing is new signing Martin Dubravka, who is replaced in the squad by 18-year-old Radek Vitek, with the reasons for the Slovak's absence currently unknown.

Anthony Martial, Donny van de Beek and Aaron Wan-Bissaka were not included in the squad, with the former two nursing ongoing injuries and Wan-Bissaka likely injured too.

FC Sheriff

Sheriff have no obvious injury concerns head of the fixture, and head coach Stjepan Tomas seems keen to use his entire squad where possible in the competition.

Sheriff made use of all five substitutions last time out in their 3-0 victory over Omonia, and will no doubt field a strong team against Manchester United on Sunday evening.

On Sheriff, Ten Hag said: "It's quite clear, they beat Real Madrid and Shakhtar, they are capable. We have to make it our game but we are conscious of that fact. They are a serious and decent opponent and we have to play our best for the win."

The fixture is due to take place on Thursday evening, with Erik ten Hag likely to field a strong squad in order to establish dominance in the group and get back to winning ways after last Thursday's humiliating defeat
