Manchester United will finally get their 2022/23 Premier League season underway against Brighton & Hove Albion.

The fixture will see a debut for Erik ten Hag in competitive English football, with many fans eager to see his return to Old Trafford for his official debut after a 1-1 draw with Rayo Vallecano at the ground in pre-season.

Pre-season provided mixed results for Manchester United, with three victories in the opening three games being followed by two draws and a loss.

Tour 2022 also saw three new Reds donning the famous shirt for the first time, with Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez getting game time ahead of the season opener.

Ten Hag hinted on Friday that both Eriksen and Martinez could start for the Reds.

When asked on Sunday if Cristiano Ronaldo will start due to Anthony Martial’s injury, Erik ten Hag was very blunt in his response.

A trip to Brentford on 13 August will be followed by an Old Trafford clash against Liverpool the following Monday, with a fixture away to Southampton on 27 August rounding off the opening month of the season.

Erik ten Hag will look to get to winning ways as fast as possible at his new club in order to finish the season within the Champions League places.
