The 4 Manchester United Players Who Will "Happily Leave" Old Trafford This Summer

These four players could be heading out of the door at United this summer.

Manchester United could continue their clear-out of players under Erik ten Hag this summer, with four players who are happy to leave the club.

That's according to Chris Wheeler of the Daily Mail, who has reported that Dean Henderson, Eric Bailly, Phil Jones and Anthony Martial are all happy to leave Old Trafford this window.

The four of them are players who have fell out of favour in recent years at United, and their departures could end up giving the club a chance to strengthen areas of the squad that Ten Hag needs.

Henderson is one that is most likely to exit the club next season, however that's looking like it will only be on a season-long loan instead of a permanent move.

Promoted club Nottingham Forest are interested in his services following the news that their current goalkeeper, Brice Samba, is likely to leave the club this summer.

Though it was originally unclear whether Forest were pushing to include an option, or obligation, to buy the player following the loan spell, Laurie Whitwell has since reported that these were never part of discussions for the goalkeeper, and that it'll be a straight loan.

Anthony Martial is the next player, Whitwell also added in his report that he is one at the club who might be able to command a more significant fee, however United are not factoring in the expectation of huge sales.

The Frenchman's value did not increase after his loan spell in Spain with Sevilla, as he struggled with injuries and scored just one goal for the La Liga side.

It would not be too surprising to see Martial stay at United for one more year if the club are unable to purchase another striker to share the workload with Cristiano Ronaldo.

But, if he does leave, the Reds should expect to get at least £20 million from the 26-year-old, but interest is currently unknown for the forward.

Phil Jones and Eric Bailly are cut from the same cloth. Both can be very useful defenders when fit, but that when has been too scarce in years gone by.

The Englishman was close to a move away in January last season, but that dematerialised. Bailly is one who seems very unhappy with his lack of playing time at Old Trafford.

If United are able to move either of these defenders on, it would likely be for a small fee as they bring high wages and doubts about their long term fitness levels.

One other player that Ten Hag could look to move on is right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

The player is one that the club will listen to offers for, according to Wheeler, just three years after he signed from Crystal Palace for a fee close to £50m.

It is unlikely that United will even yield half of that if a sale goes through, with the defender stalled in his development since moving to Old Trafford.

These potential sales could allow United to spend money for a central defender, right-back and a winger, as per Wheeler.

Current priorities lie with the ongoing saga of Frenkie de Jong, who is Ten Hag's primary target this window.
