This Manchester United goalscoring stat shows a MASSIVE problem in Erik ten Hag's squad

This Manchester United goalscoring stat shows a MASSIVE problem in Erik ten Hag's squad

It could be a big problem that Ten Hag needs to deal with.

One problem that Erik ten Hag will face this season is finding where the goals will come from in his Manchester United squad.

Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the best goalscorers of all-time, but his future at Old Trafford for the entirety of this season is not guaranteed.

The Portuguese talisman will also have to be managed well if he does stay, with his 38th birthday coming mid-way through the campaign.

A list of the top ten goalscorers within the squad whilst in United colours has been made and it showcases that Ten Hag could have major problems figuring out where his goals come from throughout the season.

The top ten current Man United scorers whilst at the club

#1 - Cristiano Ronaldo (142)

#2 - Marcus Rashford (93)

#3 - Anthony Martial (79)

#4 - Bruno Fernandes (50)

#5 - Scott McTominay (16)

#6 - Fred (8)

#7 - Harry Maguire (7)

#8 - Phil Jones (6)

#9 - Jadon Sancho (5)

#10 - Anthony Elanga (4)

The fact that four of those players have less than ten goals for the club is worrying, although some would hope that Sancho is able to produce a better performance in front of goal this season.

Another unknown is whether Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial can return to their goalscoring form from the early days of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

United scored just 57 goals in the Premier League last season. Ronaldo finished 18 of those.

They lost their opening fixture of the season 2-1 against Brighton. It was an own goal which made sure the Reds didn't blank in the encounter.

There are many different problems which the new manager will need to deal with, but it seems that one of the major ones will be ensuring that enough goals are coming from the players in the squad.

Brentford is the next opposition for the Reds, with Ronaldo likely to start the game at the Brentford Community Stadium.
