Casemiro explains the key to success at Manchester United in first interview

In his first official interview as a Manchester United player, new signing Casemiro outlined how his exemplary drive and mentality have served as his key to success.

The Brazilian arrives in Manchester as one of the most decorated midfielders in the world

By his own admission, the hard work needed to win at the highest level starts on the training ground.

“I'm a player that loves to work hard,” he says. “[I am] a player that gives everything on the pitch,

"But not just over 90 minutes, in training too, which for me is the most important thing."

Casemiro clearly buys into the train how you play rhetoric, stressing that the tone for competitive matches is set during the week in training.

“You have to train as hard as possible to play at your best, be strong and fully committed.”

This bodes well for new manager Erik ten Hag as he has stressed the need for signing the right type of player.

Individuals with a strong work ethic when it comes to training groundwork are more likely to buy into his ideas and be able to carry them out in matches.

United fans can also be buoyed by this sentiment as for far too long in recent seasons, the United players have been accused of lacking fighting spirit or a winning mentality.

With Casemiro providing both in abundance the idea is he will condition the team in a positive fashion in that regard. 

The new midfield anchor-man ended his interview with a statement of intent for his new club.

“That's [hard work] my philosophy, my mentality and now it's all about giving everything for Manchester United.”.

With United’s 2-1 win over Liverpool on Monday signalling a change in attitude at the club, Casemiro can hope to be a further catalyst to getting the red’s season fully on the roll. 

He could appear against Southampton this weekend, as United travel down south for their next Premier League fixture.

Casemiro was unveiled at Old Trafford ahead of the surprise victory against Jurgen Klopp's men on Monday.
