This news could confirm other reports which suggest a deal is all but done.

Barcelona have prepared a farewell video for Frenkie de Jong, as the midfielder looks set to leave the Catalan club for Manchester United this summer.

On Gerard Romero's latest livestream, Juli Claramunt reported that the Spanish giants have prepped a farewell video for the Dutch player.

De Jong has spent three years with Barca since his move from Erik ten Hag's Ajax in 2019.

He has been unable to show his highest level at the club, with suggestions that he will suit playing under his former coach at Old Trafford more so than in Spain.

He will be a key member of Ten Hag's system that he attempts to implement at United.

Various reports have suggested that the player will cost United €65 million, plus around €15-20m in add-ons.

Samuel Luckhurst suggested that the guaranteed fee will be spread across different instalments.

However, Romero also mentioned in his stream that Barcelona are looking to push the fixed amount to €70m, with €15-20m add-ons on top of that too.

Ultimately, though, reliable reports say that the beforementioned up front fee of €65m has been agreed between the clubs.

This is a good move from the United chiefs, who have been heavily criticised throughout the opening weeks of the transfer window.

If it is to be believed that preparation for a goodbye video are already underway at the Nou Camp, it could mean that the deal is completed in the coming days.

It was said on Wednesday morning that the two clubs have agreed a deal in principle for the player.

This was alongside Tyrell Malacia, who United snatched from Lyon in spectacular fashion in the last 48 hours.

United are slowly strengthening their squad, and these two signings look like they'll be available during pre-season for the Reds.

Meanwhile, Lisandro Martinez is the next target on United's list.

The Argentine is also attracting interest from Arsenal, who are desperate to get his signature.

Some reports say that Ten Hag's relationship with the player could give United an upper hand in this battle.
