Antony says he is relishing Europa League clash after fast start to Manchester United life under Erik ten Hag

Antony says he is looking forwards to his first away Manchester United fixture in the form of FC Sheriff in the Europa League under Ten Hag.

Antony has made a fast start for Manchester United, with his official signing announced on deadline day just past, and his debut coming a few days later.

He made an instant impact for Manchester United, starting and scoring the opening goal against to of the league Arsenal.

He then started United's next game against Real Sociedad at Old Trafford which ended in an unfortunate 1-0 loss, however his tricks and playstyle on field had won fans over already.

With United playing Sheriff Tiraspol in the Europa League on Thursday afternoon, Antony is excited to get his first Red Devil experience away from home.

“I always look forward to playing in a United shirt,” he told club media ahead of the fixture. “It's always a reason to get excited."

This will be United's first match in a week after the Premier League fixture against Crystal Palace was postponed due to the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

Speaking on how the squad need to refocus their aims on winning once again, Antony has set the goal clearly.

“Unfortunately, we lost the last home game, (but) we now need to focus 100 per cent on the away game and bring the three points home.”

FC Sheriff are no easy opposition, having beaten the likes of Shaktar Donetsk and Real Madrid in previous seasons.

“We'll face difficulties,” he said. “We know it will be a tough game.

“(But) everybody knows about the greatness of Manchester United, so we'll go on the pitch and honour this important badge.”

Cristiano Ronaldo is also expected to start his second game in a row for the first time under Erik ten Hag as preferred striker Marcus Rashford is out with a minor injury.

Other Brazilian signing Casemiro is also likely to continue his place in the XI from the Sociedad match, after spending his first three United matches on the bench.
