'Gamebred' steps in on very short notice after finally striking a deal with UFC president Dana White.
And ahead of Usman and Masvidal facing off against each other in the famed Octagon, 'The Nigerian Nightmare' has issued his opponent an indirect message on social media.
He uploaded a picture of himself walking away from former foes Tyron Woodley and Colby Covington, accompanied with the caption: "Shmoood."

Usman also spoke about his rival's BMF title. He said: "After I go out there and beat his ass and ragdoll him, that sh*t is coming home with me so I can throw it in my closet."
He added: ""At the end of the day, when you're in training camp, the way that I train, you see no face.
"When I cross into that Octagon, I have to turn on the Nigerian nightmare and leave Kamaru Usman on the outside. And, so I see no face by the time I'm in there anyway.
"Now it's a little extra push to get in there and really do some damage."
Usman will look to keep his perfect record intact when he takes on Masvidal at UFC 251.
Masvidal's manager Malki Kawa says his client "is extremely happy" with the deal to fight for the UFC welterweight title.
Usman will make the walk to the Octagon for the first time since UFC 245 when he stopped Colby Covington to defend his title.
Masvidal, on the other hand, hasn't fought since his victory over Nate Diaz to claim the BMF title at UFC 244.
