Khabib's Cousin, Umar, Puts On Near-Perfect Performance On UFC Debut

Khabib Nurmagomedov's cousin, Umar, scored a stunning submission victory over Sergey Morozov on his UFC debut.

UFC newcomer Umar put on a near-perfect performance at UFC Fight Island 8 to record his first victory inside the Octagon.

He staggered Morozov with a lightning-quick head kick and followed up with a series of punches against the fence in the first round.

The 24-year-old then secured the stoppage in the second round, sinking in a brutal rear-naked choke.

The bantamweight prospect, 24, improves his MMA record to 13-0 following his first UFC victory.

Speaking to RT Sport before the fight, American Kickboxing Academy coach Javier Mendez says he expects Umar to become a UFC champion in five or six fights.

"Umar's awesome, I expect he's going to be the world champion in five or six fights.

"But he's completely different from Khabib. In the way he fights, he's more of a striker-type base guy. But he can do it all, he can do everything."
