Conor McGregor savagely taunted Nate Diaz after he shared his thoughts on his rival's crushing defeat to Dustin Poirier.

Diaz said McGregor was too aggressive against Poirier at UFC 257 as the Irishman suffered his first knockout loss of his professional MMA career.

"I think [Conor McGregor] was pushing the pace too hard like he had it in the bag... He's anxious for the kill because he wants out," he told Ariel Helwani.

McGregor caught wind of Diaz's comments and hit out at the Stockton slugger on social media, poking fun at his "race car" chair.

On Instagram, he wrote: "Look out we got a bad ass in a race car chair over here."

He also said: "Cool race car chair bro."

In another comment, he added: "Vroom vroom beep beep hahahahahajw."

McGregor talked up a trilogy fight against Diaz in the build-up to his Octagon comeback.

But the American poured cold water on the idea of facing McGregor, calling out Poirier and Charles Oliveira instead.

On 'The Diamond', he said: "Now is the time for sure to fight. We should have fought a long time ago, and now the stars have aligned... I'm waiting for a fight where people are ready for the big fight, and now is the time."

He added: "I'm not gonna play f**king nice guy like how Conor McGregor just did with him. Conor just walked him right in for the taking. I think that a fight with me would be more real, a more serious situation for him. I don't think he could sleep with that."

Diaz continued by saying he'll also fight Oliveira: "That's the guy right there. I'll fight that guy.

"That's who I'll fight. I like the winners because I'm the winner. I ain't lost to nobody. I'm trying to fight the guys who are winning.

"I think Oliveira is the best fight right now and Dustin Poirier."

Poirier is still fresh off an incredible victory over McGregor while Oliveira is riding an impressive eight-fight winning streak which includes his most recent scalp over Tony Ferguson.

As for Diaz, he hasn't fought since his BMF title loss to Jorge Masvidal at UFC 244 back in November 2019.
