Jorge Masvidal Drops The Biggest Hint Yet That He'll Be Fighting Kamaru Usman At UFC 251

Masvidal is eyeing a fight against Usman next weekend at UFC 251.

BMF champion Jorge Masvidal appears set to fight welterweight champion Kamaru Usman at UFC 251 after dropping a hint on social media.

Masvidal is primed to replace Gilbert Burns after he was forced out of UFC 251 due to a positive COVID-19 test.

He was supposed to face the UFC welterweight champion on 'Fight Island' until a bitter pay dispute with Dana White.

However, it seems like 'Gamebred' will finally get his shot at UFC gold after he took a coronavirus test ahead of potentially flying out to Abu Dhabi.

His manager also posted a clip of the 35-year-old on the phone, accompanied with the caption: "Negotiating."


Masvidal wasted no time in volunteering to fill Burns' void after he tested positive for COVID-19.

He shared a picture featuring his iconic nickname along with the definition: "Gamebred is an animal that has been bred to be game."

Usman reacted to his rival's social media post with a taunt: "Might be time for the Pig to squeal."

ESPN reporter Ariel Helwani then reported that Usman vs. Masvidal is the UFC's plan ahead of their debut show on 'Fight Island'.

"I am told as of right now, talks are on going," he said. "I'm told those talks are moving in a positive direction.

"This morning it seemed like a long shot that this fight would happen. Now, it seems barring any last minute hiccups - and there are still a few more hurdles that they have to jump over - people are very confident that in exactly seven days from now, people are going to see one of the most anticipated fights of 2020.

"A fight that we didn't think is going to happen, now it seems like maybe UFC's most bitter feud is actually going to play out."
