Ronda Rousey has hailed UFC fighter Edmen Shahbazyan as "special" and insisted that the 'MMA-obsessed' fighter could destroy anyone in his path.

Shahbazyan, 22, is currently managed under Rousey's One Fight Management and trained with the UFC legend when he was only 15 years old.

The American MMA fighter made his UFC debut in 2018 and holds an unblemished MMA record of 11 wins and no losses.

Speaking to UFC president Dana White, Rousey claimed that Shahbazyan is "f*****g awesome at everything."

The UFC Hall of Famer said during an Instagram chat with White: "That's my fighter. He has always been special.

"He is that first generation of kids that only did MMA. He was obsessed with MMA when I was training at the gym. He was actually my throwing dummy.

"It's not like he is mediocre at everything. He is just f**king awesome at everything.

"Like, this kid started off like destroying everyone at grappling tournaments, destroying everyone at boxing tournaments, then we started MMA, it was just a no-brainer."

Rousey, who retired from MMA after suffering back-to-back defeats, said that Shahbazyan learned how to do armbars from her.

"He was my training partner [at 15], he learned armbars from me," the MMA legend admitted.

Shahbazyan was amongst the 10 MMA fighters predicted to have the best 2020 in UFC.

The 'Golden Boy' is scheduled to make his return to the octagon against Derek Brunson at UFC Fight Night 173 on 1st August.
