Conor McGregor has laid out the conditions for a rematch with Dustin Poirier in response to his call out following his defeat to Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 242.
Poirier, 30, mentioned retirement after his crushing third round defeat to Nurmagomedov, but the American veteran has McGregor in his sights as he plots his return to the Octagon.

However, his message didn't go down well with the ex-'Champ-Champ' who fired back in typically fiery fashion on social media.
"I fed you to the canvas in 90 seconds bro," he wrote on Twitter. "You should have spoke my name with a bit more respect in that build up. 'McGregor's not next' Motherfucker, it's McGregor always! McGregor is the goal! Always! Say that now and I'll think about it. #GoneIn90seconds #NicCage #AJolie."
McGregor and Poirier first fought in 2014, when both fighters were competing in the featherweight division.

The Irishman won the bout via a devastating first round TKO at UFC 178 before becoming the champion of the weight class.
Both fighters went on to move up in weight and win world titles. McGregor claimed the UFC lightweight title after beating Eddie Alvarez, while Poirier picked up the interim version against Max Holloway earlier in the year.

McGregor, meanwhile, hasn't fought since his defeat to Nurmagomedov last October, though he's eyeing a return to the Octagon.
"I'm not going to wait around [for Nurmagomedov]," he said ahead of UFC 242.
"If Dustin goes in and does it [beats Nurmagomedov] then it's Dustin, it could be Nate, Jorge [Masvidal], I don't know what size.
"[I'll fight] Anyone, Tony Ferguson, Justin Gaethje, [Max] Hollaway rematch, [Jose] Aldo rematch, there's so many bouts for me, so many.

"It doesn't matter about who, it just matters me getting back in there and being who I am, not a shell of myself."
