The alleged victim of an attack from UFC star Conor McGregor has verbally hit out at the Irishman for not apologising.

McGregor has been universally panned following the release of footage from an incident at a pub in Dublin back in April.

Video footage emerged of him attacking a 50 year-old man in the Marble Arch pub after the man refused to drink a shot of McGregor's whiskey, Proper 12.

The 31 year-old has since spoken about the incident, saying in an interview with ESPN's Ariel Helwani,

"I was in the wrong. That man deserved to enjoy his time in the pub without it having to end the way it did."

Speaking to The Irish Mirror the victim has said he hasn't been satisfied with the behaviour of the former UFC Champ since that night.

"I suppose he's trying to cover himself," he said.

"I think it was his only route to take. He apologised to all his fans. I didn't get an apology.

"He didn't give me an apology, he's just given one to all his fans and his family. He's more or less admitted that he was in the wrong."

When asked about if a face-to-face apology from 'The Notorious' would satisfy him, the man explained,

"It could do. He would need to do it to me rather than through the media."

The man also revealed the stress he has suffered since the incident occurred, adding:

"It's getting a bit mad, every day it's the front page of the papers. I'm kind of getting sick of it all now."

McGregor is expected to appear in court in October, where he will be charged over the alleged assault.

McGregor discussed a variety of topics with Helwani, with many saying it was his most open and honest interview yet.

"I tried to make amends and I made amends back then. But it doesn't matter. I was in the wrong. I must come here before you and take accountability and take responsibility. I owe it to the people that have been supporting me.

"I owe it to my mother, my father, my family. I owe it to the people who trained me in martial arts.

"That's not who I am. That's not the reason why I got into martial arts or studying combat sports. The reason I got into it was to defend against that type of scenario. Whatever comes my way, I will face it."
