Curious fans throughout the history of MMA would have been curious about how multiple amateur fighters would fare against one professional in the octagon, and now they finally have their answer.
Eduardo Riego decided to put his ability to the test by fighting three amateurs in Tarragona in Catalunya, Spain.
The Spaniard squared off against three smaller opponents – Manuel, Ivan, and Tomas – and the clash began as you would expect as the trio quickly swarmed him as they tried to overwhelm him.
This would be how the early stages would play out, but he did survive this onslaught, and he would get to the task at hand of beating the trio.

In the second round he made a fantastic start as he managed to get one of his opponents to tap out with a guillotine choke despite constant strikes from the other two fighters.
The referee would restart the action after the first elimination, but Reigo would once again struggle in the opening exchanges, but this time with only two opponents.
While his task was no easier, it is not to say that the challenge is easy, as both fighters are capable of landing significant blows to the Spaniard.

Reigo would survive the round, but it was the third in which he would thrive, as he came out and once again eliminated an opponent with a guillotine choke as the other fighter kept striking him to ensure he did not lose his partner to elimination.
Once he eliminated the second opponent, the odds changed completely, and he became the overwhelming favourite in securing the victory in the fight, and this would prove to be the case.
Reigo made easy work of his third and final opponent and also had him eliminated in the third round of the fight, doing so with a rear-naked choke, prompting a wild reaction from those inside the arena.
As his hand was lifted by the referee at the end of the fight to demonstrate his victory, his opponents showed Reigo the utmost respect as they clapped for him, understanding what he had just achieved.
Reigo demonstrated the levels between amateurism and professionalism in the world of MMA and just how difficult it is to beat an elite fighter, even if you have a numerical advantage.
