A British tennis player has been hit with the biggest fine yet at this year's Wimbledon following an incident in a practice session at the tournament.
The All England Tennis Club is playing host to the 138th edition of the Grand Slam tournament with a week of action still to go.
Men's champion Carlos Alcaraz has reached the quarter-final stage by beating Andrey Rublev and ensuring his aim of winning three Wimbledon crowns in a row remains on course.
Novak Djokovic takes on Alex de Minaur on Monday afternoon in his last 16 tie, while Italian Jannik Sinner faces Gregor Dimitrov in his match, with the victors of both games facing one another in the last eight.

There will be a fresh women's champion this year after 2024 winner Barbora Krejcikova was beaten in the third round by Emma Navarro.
Briton Henry Patten and Finn Harri Heliovaara will be seeking to retain their men's doubles title and have already reached the quarter-final stage following the withdrawal of their last 16 opponents Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Jordan Thompson.

But any of Patten's earnings from Wimbledon this year will take a hit after it was announced he has been fined £9,000 for verbally abusing staff who were attempting to curtail his practice session early.
As per the Daily Express, the tournament announced their list of fines for this year's event and Patten's is the highest, which is followed by the £4,000 penalty that has been issued to Adrian Mannarino.
The Frenchman was handed the fine after his second round win over Valentin Royer where he displayed unsportsmanlike conduct.
Elena Pridankina's fine of £3,600 is the third highest and was given for her unsportsmanlike conduct in the doubles loss to Jelena Ostapenko and Hsieh Su-wei.

A quartet of players have been fined £2,900, while another four have been slapped with £1,500 penalties, and Jule Niemeier will lose £1,800 after displaying unsportsmanlike conduct.
Patten won last year's Wimbledon doubles title in addition to the 2025 Australian Open crown alongside Harri Heliövaara of Finland.
Their victory in Australia saw the pair reach number three in the world doubles rankings.
