Tennis has taken over Paris this week as the French Open kicked off at Roland Garros; however, the action had to be delayed following PSG’s victory in the Champions League final.
The French Open has already witnessed some incredible scenes this week as tournament favourite Jannik Sinner was eliminated by Juan Manuel Cerundolo in a stunning comeback victory for the Argentine.
Sinner had had an incredible 2026 coming into the competition, as he was on a 30-match winning streak stretching back to February, and everybody had expected him to extend this run in this match.
However, following his defeat, it has blown the competition wide open, particularly with two-time reigning champion Carlos Alcaraz out due to an injured right wrist.

Felix Aliassime and Brandon Nakashima, while not household names in the sport, would have believed they have an outside shot of now lifting the French Open after witnessing the exploits of Cerundolo.

Yet, as the pair squared off on Court Philippe-Chatrie, the game was halted following the news that PSG had lifted back-to-back Champions Leagues after they beat Premier League champions Arsenal in the final.
Luis Enrique’s side secured the victory on penalties after Gabriel blazed his spot-kick over the bar and into the crowd to ensure the Ligue 1 champions lifted the trophy tonight.
This victory for the Parisian side led to incredible scenes at Roland Garros as the crowd erupted in celebration and chants.
The umpire had to ask the celebratory crowd to reign in their emotions following the news that PSG had won the Champions League final so that the match between Aliassime and Nakashima could continue.
Paris will be celebrating long into the night following the victory of PSG in the Champions League, and that includes all those that are at the tennis in Roland Garros, who will be aiming to join the party on the streets of the French capital once the match between the North American pair comes to an end.
