Emma Raducanu suffered yet another medical scare as she crashed out of the Ningbo Open.

Last week, Raducanu was forced to retire at the Wuhan Open during a clash against American star Ann Li.

In the second set, Raducanu was down 4-1 and called for a medical timeout after the 22-year-old's energy level looked increasingly concerning.

During the changeover, the 2021 US Open champion received medical treatment and had her blood pressure checked.

Following the medical timeout, Raducanu confirmed her retirement as she shook hands with Li before heading off court.

The 22-year-old issued a health update over the weekend, Raducanu wrote: "Last day at the doctor's in Wuhan… feeling better now.

"Shame I couldn’t continue there but thank you for the messages."

On Tuesday, Raducanu returned to court to take on world number 219, Zhu Lin, at the Ningbo Open.

The Brit took the first set 6-3, but things began to unravel during the second.

Midway through the set, Raducanu was seemingly struggling in the warm weather conditions again as she called on the trainer.

With the score at 4-3, a doctor and a physio came on court to take Raducanu's pulse and blood pressure.

Although she was struggling, Raducanu dug deep as she played on, but lost the second set 6-4.

In the third set, Raducanu lost 6-1, meaning Zhu advanced by winning 3-6, 6-4, 6-1.

Over the last few weeks, several high-profile names have struggled in the tough conditions in China.

During the men's ATP1000 event in Shanghai, Jannik Sinner was forced to retire due to cramp.

Meanwhile, the likes of Daniil Medvedev, Holger Rune and Novak Djokovic all struggled, and Valentin Vacherot ended up winning the tournament.

Looking ahead, Raducanu is scheduled to return to the tennis court at the Hong Kong Open, which begins on October 27. However, after recent medical scares, it remains to be seen whether she will take part or put an early end to her season.
