A body language expert has analysed Emma Raducanu's latest interview to find the truth about her rumoured romance with Carlos Alcaraz.

In less than one week, perhaps the biggest tennis major of the year gets underway at the iconic All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club in Wimbledon.

Ahead of the competition, several of the most famous names in the sport have been competing in various other events across the world in preparation for the major next week.

One of those names, is British superstar Raducanu, who recently sparked rumours of a romance with men's world number-two Alcaraz after the two announced they would play together in the mixed doubles at the US Open in August.

Ahead of her opening match at the Eastbourne Open, the 22-year-old remained coy as she addressed the rumours, but a body language expert has revealed exactly what she was thinking.

In an interview with the BBC, Raducanu refused to confirm or deny any rumours about a romance with her long-term friend, but admitted that she as glad that the internet was having fun with their theories.

Speaking to OBLG, body language expert Darren Stanton claimed that the interview showed that that Raducanu is ‘besotted’ with her US Open Mixed Doubles partner, but it's unclear if they are in a relationship.

He said: “I think Emma Raducanu is besotted with Carlos Alcaraz.

"In her interview with the BBC, you can see that her face lights up and her pupils dilate. You can tell when her emotion shifts from speaking about general tennis to when she gets asked the question about what’s being said on the internet having fun on speculation.

"When she gets asked about the rumours, she shifts emotion because she starts to look down and left.

“Looking up is remembering general things and pictures as you’re trying to think whereas when people look down and left, she’s accessing something called internal auditory dialogue.

“She goes from instantaneously answering to considering what she’s about to say very carefully.

“I’m not saying there’s a full-blown relationship going on but there’s one of two things.

"Either they’re very close and there could be something there down the line or it’s wishful thinking on her part because there’s something that causes that emotional shift and it happens at the same time that she talks about general tennis to then talking about him and their relationship.

“I don’t think it’s anything yet so it could be a close friendship that could allude to something in the future or she really loves the idea of those two being an item.”

Where to buy last-minute Wimbledon tickets

The Wimbledon ballot may have closed for another year, but it’s not too late to buy advance tickets if you know where to look.

If you don’t mind splashing out on the experience, Seat Unique has the option to book ‘VIP Debenture Behind The Server’ and ‘VIP Debenture Front 5 Rows’ tickets.

These tickets offer 'unparalleled views' of the court, so you won't miss out on any of the action.
