Laura Robson appeared to go against directive from the United States Tennis Association in relation to Donald Trump's appearance at the US Open final.
Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner met for the 15th time and continued their incredible rivalry in another Grand Slam final at Flushing Meadows, having already battled it at Wimbledon, the French Open and the Italian Open this year.
They also recently locked horns in the final of the Cincinnati Open, where world No.1 Sinner had to retire due to illness.

However, this spectacle in New York had an extra dimension to it as President Trump flew in from the White House on Sunday morning to watch the two greats put on yet another masterclass.
Trump was invited by Rolex and sat in their private suite at the Arthur Ashe Stadium, his appearance causing the match to be delayed due to the added security measures and large queues outside.
Beforehand, it was reported that the USTA sent out an email to broadcasters with a clear instruction regarding Trump's presence.
The email stated: “We ask all broadcasters to refrain from showing any disruptions or reactions in response to the president’s attendance in any capacity.”

Trump was on the big screen as the national anthem was sang and saluted the fans, though there were some audible boos as there was a decade ago when he attended the 2015 competition.
Former British tennis star Robson was on punditry duty for Sky Sports in the United Kingdom and the Olympic silver medallist did point out that there was a negative crowd reaction to Trump.

"They've just shown Trump on the big screen, lots of boos," Robson said live on air.

Trump has been a regular the tournament over the years and his appearances comes after he attended the Club World Cup final at the MetLife Stadium in July.
The 79-year-old was part of the official medal and trophy presentation alongside FIFA president Gianni Infantino but appeared to refuse to leave the podium as Reece James hoisted the prize in the air.
Asked about Trump watching him and Sinner, Alcaraz said "it’s great for tennis to have the president at the final".
