Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner took part in a fast-paced game of table tennis ahead of their season-opening exhibition match in South Korea – and it made for a fascinating watch.

The top two men’s singles players in the world, who have won nine of the last 10 Grand Slam titles between them, will face each other in the Hyundai Card Super Match on Saturday.

Ahead of their first televised game of 2026, the pair took part in a press conference on Friday, with the big talking point being their comments on potentially playing on the same side of the net.

“I think it would be fun to share the court in a different way, at least once,” Sinner said, after being asked about the idea of becoming Alcaraz's doubles partner. “Maybe this year or next year - why not? It could happen.”

Alcaraz also gave his take, saying: “We’ve thought about it once or twice. But we’re singles players and we play a lot of matches, tournament after tournament, so it’s difficult to add doubles. Still, doing it at least once would be nice.”

As well as a press conference, Alcaraz and Sinner went head-to-head in a game of table tennis.

Unsurprisingly, the pair were highly skilled at the racket sport and engaged in a very watchable rally as fans inside the Hyundai Card Headquarters in Seoul appreciated the spectacle.

Here's how fans reacted to the footage, as seen below.

One said: "They're bloody good at that, as well," and a second commented: "Why are they so good at everything? I hate my life."

A third wrote: "They got a solid future in table tennis, those kids look pretty good at it!!!"

A fourth said: "These guys pretty handy at the table top version too," and a fifth added: "Someone needs to give them the jackets to make it official."

Alcaraz and Sinner are reportedly set to earn about £1.7 million each from the exhibition match in South Korea, which takes place just days before the Australian Open.
