The First Utility Super League enters into its second phase of the season this week, as the Super Eights kick off across the three leagues.

There are some crucial games to look out for, as teams from each of the three mini-leagues look to get a winning start to the new part of the campaign.

Thursday - Warrington vs St Helens

Warrington and St Helens kick off this year's Super Eights, as the two local rivals play each other for third time this year.

St Helens come into the Super Eights off the back of a five-game unbeaten run which has seen them climb into the top four. Warrington are already consolidated in the top group, and a loss to the Saints on Thursday will only see the latter move to within three points of the Wolves.

Both clubs already have a win in this fixture this season, and victory for either side on Thursday will be even more crucial.

Friday - Hull FC vs Castleford

Friday's featured game also comes from the Super Eights, and, like Warrington, Hull FC refocus their attention this week on the league, after making it to the Challenge Cup final last weekend.

Hull finished the regular season at the top of the tree, and coach Lee Radford will hope to maintain his side's position as league leaders. But Castleford can be a slippy customer, and depending on which Cas decides to turn up at the KCOM Stadium, the Airlie Birds must be on their best game.

Saturday - Featherstone vs Leeds

All the attention turns to the qualifiers at the weekend, and the first to look out for are Leeds, who will look to make a quick adjustment to life in the Middle Eights.

They have hardly had a normal season by their standards, but Brian McDermott's men will hope to make a winning start in the new system.

A three-game winning run at the end of the regular season saw the Rhinos jump to ninth, guaranteeing them only three away games. But Featherstone are also on a run of their own, winning all four of their last four games in the Championship.

Sunday - Salford vs Huddersfield

The final of the round one featured games is another from the Qualifiers, as Salford and Huddersfield meet for the third time in 2016.

Both previous matches between these two this campaign have been brilliant encounters; in March, Salford won 24-26 away from home, before Huddersfield came out on top 30-31 at the AJ Bell Stadium in June.

Whatever the outcome of the tie, we certainly look forward to it if the two previous ties are anything to go by!
