Strap in Sydney, the BSc Energy Aqua Rugby Festival is back and is hitting Darling Harbour with a tsunami of rugby madness.

From Thursday 11th to Saturday 13th April, Australia’s ONLY floating rugby showdown will be making waves in the iconic Sydney Harbour.

Picture this: a massive 30 x 30 metre floating pontoon becomes the playground for a star-studded lineup of players.

It’s like rugby, but with a splash - players diving off the floating pitch straight into the Harbour, pulling off epic crash-tackles, all in the name of scoring that try.

But it’s not all about the action on the water, it’s about feeling like rugby royalty.

The festival has got its very own ultra-luxe VIP Cabana offered up to guests and sponsored by the illustrious Bollinger Champagne.

If you’ve got a group of 10-20 mates this is the experience for you.

Imagine rolling up with your crew, getting treated like absolute legends with a private cabana, and bottomless champagne flowing for a solid 5-hour drinks package. That’s the VIP life, baby!

You’ll have your own dedicated staff member making sure your glass never runs dry.

You’ll be served delicious food from Nick’s Seafood, all while you soak in the rugby action with the best views in the house.

It’s a five-hour paradise of food, drink, and top-notch rugby vibes - all while only being 10 metres away from the pitch. You’re basically at the heart of the action.

You’ll experience the teams of NZ Māori, the Australian Army, the NSW Country v NSW City rivalry, and Lloyd McDermott First Nations Rugby Side throughout the three-day competition.

Now, if you don't have a squad of 10 or 20, no worries! The festival can pair you up with like-minded mates to share the VIP experience.

Who knows, you might end up rubbing shoulders with rugby legends like Wendell Sailor, Nemani Nadolo and Mitchell Pearce chilling in the exclusive Bollinger VIP area.

There’s also a Saturday $175 option to hang out in the Bollinger Cabana that will net you two glasses of champagne and a seafood platter from Nick’s Seafood, with the best view of the action - lovely.

The Aqua Rugby concept kicked off back in 2020 when Wallaby Bernard Foley and Aqua Rugby CEO Jimmy Galvin brainstormed over pints at their local.

Galvin said: "We wanted to bring a fresh vibe to rugby and get more people into the sport.

“After some amazing events in Manly, we were keen to try a new location where Aqua Rugby can be more accessible to people across Sydney, so Darling Harbour will offer an iconic and central new location for the tournament, to a truly diverse audience.”

Now, if you're not into the VIP scene, no sweat. There's the Party Pontoon hosted by the legends at Better Beer and Budgy Smuggler, where $65 gets you into the floating festival behind the posts with DJs and bars galore.

So, mark your calendars, Sydney. The BSc Energy Aqua Rugby Festival is about to turn Darling Harbour into the ultimate rugby party zone!

Grab your VIP Cabana packages here or book your tickets directly through the Aqua Rugby Eventbrite page.
