Scotland had the chance of winning the Six Nations coming into the final round of the Six Nations, but their dream would be crushed as Ireland defeated them in Dublin.
A victory over Andy Farrell’s team would not have been enough to lift the title anyway, as France beat England with a try bonus point.
It would have been a Six Nations campaign that frustrated Scottish fans as they showed just how impressive they can be by beating England and France comprehensively; however, their defeats to Italy and Ireland were disappointing.
The same old story for Gregor Townsend’s side, a lack of consistency.

Yet, while it may frustrate, it should also encourage fans, as the World Cup is just over a year away, but Scotland will feel they can make an impact at the competition and even have what it takes to win the 2027 Six Nations.

Now, words from Scotland and Toulon star Ben White will encourage fans of the Celtic nation after he gave an incredible performance for the French side to help them progress to the quarter final of the Champions Cup against the Bulls.
Toulon emerged victorious right at the death as they put in a huge defensive effort to repel the South African side as it looked like they would score a try as the French side had two players in the sin bin and seemed to be flagging; however, they got the job done.
Speaking to L’Equipe after the match, White said: “I love that kind of pressure; it brings out the best in me. I know I have to be at my best, and when you play a match like that, against the best players in the world and against a very good team, you know you're under pressure. And you have to rise to the occasion. I love those moments; I love big matches.”
White has seemingly used the disappointing experiences with Scotland to help him in his club career with Toulon.

He said: “The way I've always learned to deal with setbacks or things that aren't going well is to work hard, to be fully committed, to focus on my strengths, and also to address my weaknesses. We build with details.
“If you accumulate small things, little by little, then victories can come. But you have to do these small things with precision and dedication, work tirelessly every day, and look for what you can improve in every aspect of your life. And when you do that, you can play well.”
Scottish fans will be hopeful White brings this approach and learning back to their nation for the next Six Nations campaign, which should hopefully set them up perfectly for the World Cup later in 2027.
