Rugby league community in mourning following the sudden death of Paul Green

Shockwaves have been sent through the rugby league community after it was revealed that legendary player and coach Paul Green had sadly passed away.

According to The Daily Telegraph, Green was found in his Brisbane home on Thursday morning with the Daily Mail confirming that he had tragically taken his own life.

He was just 49 years of age.

Tributes have come flooding in for the former Queensland State of Origin coach following his sudden death.

players, coaches and fans alike have flocked to social media to send their condolences while also sharing fond memories of the premiership-winning coach.

As a player, Green represented the Cronulla Sharks, North Queensland Cowboys, Sydney Roosters, Parramatta Eels and Brisbane Broncos while also making a handful of appearances for the Maroons.

During his time as a coach, he guided the North Queensland Cowboys to the team's first ever premiership in 2015.

News of his tragic passing is truly, truly sad.
