Corey Norman is staring down the barrel of a monster eight-week ban after being accused of trying to stick his finger up an opponent’s backside during a game.

The former NRL star, who is currently plying his trade in the UK Super League with Toulouse, was having a running battle with Warrington's Oliver Holmes.

The two were involved in a number of heated exchanges throughout the game, but tensions well and truly boiled over in the second half.

In the 53rd minute of the clash, Holmes had the ball in his hand and ran directly at Norman.

As the two scrambled on the deck following the tackle, the Aussie allegedly tried to stick his finger up his rival's backside.

Us Australian rugby league fans have seen this sort of stuff before with John Hopoate infamously doing the same back in 2001 while playing for Wests Tigers.

Only Hopoate didn't do it to just one person – he did it to three.

If you were watching the game from the comfort fo your own home then it would be tricky to see exactly where and when the act takes place.

But the Warrington players certainly saw it all unfold.

It's understood both Holmes and his Warrington teammate Danny Walker reported the incident to the touch judge.

Norman is now facing a Grade F charge relating to 'inappropriate contact' and, if found guilty, he could be slapped with an eight-match suspension by the match review panel.

It would mean he misses the rest of the season as his side battles to avoid relegation from the Super League.

We've witnessed this sort of act before on the footy field.

Only last year, former Huddersfield player Kenny Edwards copped a 10-game suspension for attempting to wedge his finger up the backside of Catalans Dragons forward Sam Kasiano.

As for the man that made the move infamous over two decades ago, he's doubling down on his actions.

"You can either embrace it and make it a joke, or you'll be getting angry your whole life because people will be hammering you about it," Hopoate said in an interview in 2019.

"You just need to embrace it."
