Brandon Smith calls NRL teammate 'thick as pig s**t' in hilarious interview

The Melbourne Storm don't just deliver on the park, but they also deliver when it comes to interviews too.

We've lost count of the amount of times a Storm player has left fans in stitches with a brilliant post-match comment.

This one, though, might just be the funniest yet.

Brandon Smith has gone to town on his teammate and good friend Cameron Munster, calling the talented five-eighth 'thick as pig s**t'.

The Storm had just defeated the Penrith Panthers 16-0, keeping the NRL table-toppers scoreless in their own backyard.

Munster, as he always is, was instrumental in his team's victory, slotting into the full-back role effortlessly.

Smith, who bagged a sensational solo try of his own, was full of praise for his Melbourne teammate but refused to boost his old pal's ego too much.

“He’s [Munster] as thick as pig s***,” Smith joked.

“He’s the dumbest bloke in the world but when he gets on the field, he’s a genius. It’s outstanding. I’m glad I’m playing with him and not against him. He’s the most annoying bloke on planet earth but he’s one of my good mates so you’ve got to love him.”

Loveable larrikin Smith got into a far more heated exchange just a few minutes prior.

With the referee just about to blow for full-time, wind-up merchant Smith gave Spencer Leniu a cheeky push after the Panthers front rower's foot struck his head.

It lead to a bit of argy-bargy between the two teams, with the Smith right in the thick of it.

“I didn’t say anything,” Smith said post-match.

“I just pushed him to let him know that... I think it was an accident but still, he hit me in the head and I wasn’t happy.”

“It still bought about 30 seconds off the clock,” he added, laughing, “that was pretty handy”.

“It was a tough game out there tonight. I don’t think I’ve come off the field with this many bumps and bruises.”
