US Winter Olympic snowboarder Chloe Kim was involved in an incredibly awkward moment with P!NK during an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show on 4 March.

Following her success at the Milano-Cortina Winter Games last month, during which she won silver in the snowboard halfpipe, Kim appeared on the popular chat show and spoke with music icon P!NK – formerly Alecia Beth Moore-Hart.

Kim, 25, had gone into the Games hoping to win a third successive Olympic gold medal, having previously triumphed at the PyeongChang and Beijing Games in 2018 and 2022.

And during her appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, she seemingly did not realise that it was, in fact, P!NK whom she was sitting across from.

The 25-year-old opened up about her love for the singer and explained how, when she was “like 12, 13”, she “loved listening” to her music.

Kim then started singing the lyrics to Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You), which, unbeknown to her, is Clarkson’s song.

P!nk stepped in and said: “That’s Kelly Clarkson.”

“Oh, I’m sorry, oh my gosh,” Kim replied.

“It’s okay because I’m Kelly Clarkson today!” the singer quipped.

The Olympian then said she was “so embarrassed” about the mix-up before P!NK hugged her, as Kim explained she had not fully woken up from “a nap” she had before appearing on the show.

Fans were also quick to react on social media.

One said: “I’m still trying to figure out if she thought Kelly Clarkson was interviewing her or if she just didn’t realise Pink didn’t sing that song.”

Another added: “Her publicist 100% told her she should pretend she’s a Kelly Clarkson fan and picked out a song to say she loved.”

A third claimed: “I thought it was very funny. It was great TV. People make mistakes. Not everybody’s perfect on live TV.”

While a fourth commented: “P!nk handled it like a pro (and I love her even more). Kelly picked the right choice for a successor and we all make mistakes — Chloe is no different.”

As a fifth joked: “When your manager tells you to pretend you like Kelly Clarkson but doesn’t show you a picture of what Kelly Clarkson looks like.”
