Ladies and gentleman, we have a new unified UFC featherweight champion; Max Holloway.

While Jose Aldo reclaimed UFC gold following his 13-second demolition to Conor McGregor, he was swiftly promoted to full champion after the Irishman was stripped of the belt.

Holloway picked up the interim version as the promotion attempted to salvage the UFC 206 main-even after Daniel Cormier was forced to withdraw.

And the pair fought to unify the featherweight division last night at UFC 212 with Holloway continuing his impressive win-streak as he inflicted Aldo's third professional defeat.

What's more, the Hawaiian native silenced the passionate Rio de Janeiro fans who where in shock as they saw their champion lose his title.

Holloway improved his record to 18-3 while extending his win streak to 11 fights.

The 25-year-old's last defeat came to the hands of McGregor in 2013. Holloway was drafted in short-notice and took him the distance while being the only fighter other than Nate Diaz to take him to the score-cards.

Since then Holloway has become one of the finest talents not just in the 145lbs division but in the sport.

Meanwhile, with his first fight in 2017 under his belt, Holloway is now targeting a bout with Frankie Edgar who savagely put a beat down on rising prospect Yair Rodriguez.

"Me and Frankie, that sounds awesome," Holloway told MMA Junkie after becoming the undisputed featherweight champion.

"Everybody keeps saying I didn't fight people, and Aldo said I didn't fight people. Frankie is a former champ, and I've got two former champions under my belt. It would be nice adding another one."

And he's already got his sights on defending the title in his backyard.

"I've got to have that meeting. If they want to do it, let's do it in Hawaii. I know a place. A stadium. It's very nice. The weather is warmer than here. The beach water is not cold. We have this thing called shaved ice you'd love."

Welcome to the 'Blessed' era.
