Forget arriving three days late to your Olympic residence, and forget staying in a building where there's a fire in the basement and your personal possessions are stolen during the resultant evacuation.

The USA Basketball teams are having no such problems that the Australians have faced so far, as they quite literally cruise up to Rio in a luxury vessel

This cruise ship, named The Silver Cloud, will play host to the USA's highly paid NBA stars, as well as the women's basketball team. What a way to wind down after competing! But if you want to catch a glimpse of this enormous ship and the athletes housed within, you're going to have a hard time doing so.


Some 250 of the US Federal Police will guard the athletes, who will also be protected by a fence made of bulletproof material. It seems like the USA Basketball teams have the perfect pad for Olympic preparations - but can this be converted into medals?
