New footage emerges of chaotic 10-man ice hockey brawl that broke out just three seconds into NHL match

Fresh footage of the viral fight has emerged.

New footage has emerged of the 10-man ice hockey brawl that broke out just seconds into an NHL game this week.

On Wednesday a 10-man brawl broke out seconds into the New York Rangers's 4-3 victory against the New Jersey Devils.

All 10 players on the ice became involved in the brawl off the opening faceoff, with eight of them subsequently ejected from the NHL game with just two seconds on the clock.

Rangers forward Matt Rempe took on Devils star Kurtis MacDermid in the main fight which lasted longer than the others, and ended when both men ran out of steam.

The players had unfinished business from the previous time the two sides met on March 11.

During that clash at Madison Square Garden, Rempe refused MacDermid's offer of a fight, before knocking Devils defenseman Jonas Siegenthaler out of the game with a high elbow.

The Rangers star received a four-game suspension.

TV footage of the main fight went viral on social media, but now fresh footage has emerged with a wide-angle shot showing all five fights happening simultaneously.

Along with Rempe, New York defensemen Jacob Trouba and K’Andre Miller and forward Barclay Goodrow were ejected from the game.

New Jersey lost defensemen Kevin Bahl and John Marino, and forward Chris Tierney as well as MacDermid.

The two other players who fought, Rangers forward Jimmy Vesey and the Devils' Curtis Lazar, remained on the ice as they fought first and did not receive any additional punishment.

Despite plenty of fans speculating that the five fights were planned by the two sides, Devils player MacDermid insisted that wasn't the case.

"I had no idea that was going to happen. It was a spur of the moment thing," MacDermid said after the game.

Fighting is allowed in the NHL, with referees holding the authority to decide what kind of punishment to enforce.
