It's official: the UK is one of the top 12 baldest countries on Earth and most Brits who have treated it, regret not starting sooner.

According to a recent study by World Population Review, Spain is home to the highest percentage of balding men.

Following closely behind are the likes of Italy (44.37 percent), Germany (41.51 percent), and Canada (40.94 percent).

Interestingly, the UK comes in at number 12 with a whopping 40.09 percent of blokes struggling with male pattern baldness.

To combat the issue, men are turning to hair loss brand Hims, which is home to a range of treatments from topical solutions to supplements.

According to reviews, one man who has used Hims says he's gone from losing hair to having a weekly haircut.

"Hims is the best thing that could have ever happened to me, I went from almost losing my hair on the crown and centre area of my head to now having to cut my hair weekly," he shared.

"My barber was convinced I had done some kind of hair implant, after several cuts he realised it was my natural hair. This product has brought me confidence and happiness."

According to the NHS, premature balding can happen for a number of reasons, from hormonal changes and weight loss to stress or medical conditions.

So, what hair loss treatments are available for men suffering from the common condition? Find out more below.

What is the cause of excessive hair loss in men?

According to recent stats, hair loss reportedly affects around 6.5 million men in the UK, and can be caused by a huge number of factors.

For some men, it simply runs in the family, and can start in your early twenties or thirties.

Hair loss can also be caused by lifestyle changes such as stress, illness or weight loss.

It's recommended that you speak to a medical professional to understand the cause of your hair loss before seeking treatment.

Another rave review reads, "During the first month, I had some pretty intense shedding (which is normal), and I kind of freaked out a bit. But it's now been six months and I can definitely say there has been a huge difference. My front hairline and temples were in really bad shape.

"Now, I have a hairline again and it seems like [some hair is] still coming in and defining that front hairline daily."

"I do have a fuller hair and my receding hairline is disappearing," a third shopper said.
