Team USA star Kaillie Humphries gave Donald Trump a special award after labelling him as 'the best'.

Humphries, 40, is one of the biggest names in winter sports, having been one of the first women to pilot a mixed-gender bobsled team.

During the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Milan-Cortina, Humphries won bronze in the monobob before clinching bronze in the two-woman bobsled event.

On Thursday, Humphries was recognised by Trump at the White House as part of the celebration for Women’s History Month.

Humphries said: "The ultimate dream I had was to become a mom and then be able to stand on the Olympic podium.

"This year I got to do that with my one-and-a-half-old-son. Being able to earn these two bronze medals, they feel like gold. They really do. He is my gold medal and will always be for my entire life."

Humphries then decided to hand Trump an Order of Ikkos medal, which was designed for athletes to 'recognise coaches who have supported their journey to the Games'.

She said: "I want to recognize the support and impact you've had on women's sports throughout the Olympic movement, specifically standing up to keep biological women in women's sports.

"Furthermore, your policies are creating greater access to IVF, so families like mine can continue to grow."

Humphries added: "I believe this actually makes you the first president in history to be awarded an Order of Ikkos."

Trump then responded with: "I knew I liked her."

In another interview, Humphries revealed that she has had to deal with major backlash after pledging her support for Trump.

As per Fox News, Humphries said: "I've had some people not agree with my opinions and make it very known.

"A lot of name-calling. You get called every name and word under the sun humanly possible … and, at the end of the day, politics can be very emotional for people, and I understand that. And everyone is entitled to their own beliefs and what they represent. That's their opinion, and I don't have to like it or agree with it. I wish it was different, but that's how it works."
