Arnold Schwarzenegger's bodybuilding record which stood for 57 years smashed by teenager

Arnold Schwarzenegger is considered the king of bodybuilding but it looks like a teenager is ready to take his crown.

We wouldn't want to be the ones to tell him the news, but a teenager has broken Arnold Schwarzenegger's 57-year-long bodybuilding record.

When you think of bodybuilding, you automatically think of Mr Schwarzenegger. The Austrian-American made history when he won the Mr Universe title at the age of just 20, becoming the youngest-ever recipient of a 'pro card' as a result.

Over the years he brought bodybuilding under the global spotlight, creating a legacy that will live on for generations.

Schwarzenegger last competed in 1980 and, in the years since, has made an even bigger name for himself in the worlds of politics and cinema.

Yet despite retiring over 40 years ago, nobody was able to break his record. Until now.

At the weekend, 19-year-old Anton Ratushnyi wrote himself into the history books with an incredible achievement.

The teenager won the Classic Physique pro by winning the NPC national division title in the United States in Texas. As a result, Ratushnyi became the youngest-ever bodybuilder to receive a 'pro card' and become classed as a professional rather than an amateur.

Little is known about the teenager who burst onto the bodybuilding scene earlier this year. His Instagram following - he now has 203,000 followers - has exploded, and fans left plenty of congratulatory comments under his victory post.

"How was he not gonna win haha. Dude looks like sculpted stone," one fan wrote. Another admirer said: "Congrats!! Looking forward to see what you do! LIMITLESS!!!"

One commenter spared a thought for the youngster's competitors: "Cant imagine wanting to become a BB [bodybuilder] and then u have to go against this dude.”

Plenty of fans have also called for Ratushnyi to enter next year's Mr Olympia tournament. Should he enter and win, he would become the youngest-ever winner and break yet another of Schwarzenegger's records.

It seemed impossible that there would ever be another Schwarzenegger but Ratushnyi is proving the doubters wrong.
